That's from April 2, one month ago today, "Remarks by the President in a Discussion on Jobs and the Economy in Charlotte, North Carolina".

Jake Tapper ran a pretty good show today on ABC This Week. I credit him for digging up that quote and displaying it for the interview with Napolitano and Salazar. Tapper as well did an excellent job of waving BP's disingenuous government filings, which claimed preparedness for a "worst-case" spill, in the face of BP America Chairman and President, Lamar McKay .

I think it's also time to double down on skepticism about Obama's promotions of "building a new generation of safe, clean nuclear power plants in this country." What'll it be next? A Chernobyl-sized release of radioactivity from one of these "safe, clean" plants?

Sarah Palin should be getting demolished as a serious candidate right now - "drill baby drill" set up next to photos from the Gulf. But Obama has moved so far towards her policy nostrums that he takes the hit for her.

Same thing on economic policy. The Republicans should be getting creamed as the party of Wall Street and the hedge funds. But since the Democrats have taken the Republican policies as their own, the furor is with the Democrats.

Either the Democrats are completely stupid or they like it this way. And I don't believe for a second they're stupid. They have to feed from the same trough.

Check out what Pail-in's been saying about the spill:

No reason to back down. Obama should hire her.

"Oil rigs today generally don't cause spills". Except of course when they do! Just as nuclear power plants never malfunction catastrophically. Like 3-Mile Island and Chernobyl.

America has mutated into a one-party state. Ask any former resident of the old Soviet Union what life can be like in one of those. (Does Kellogg, Brown & Root still have those concentration camps in Texas ready to go?)

Thanks for the comment HH. I do agree with you 100%. I wrote on the 30th anniversary of TMI, here:
